Kiwiantiques Rooster Party

I'm pleased to be joining in Bella Vista's Rooster blog party. This is my first ever attempt at a tablescape photoshoot.

I thought it only fair rooster's from New Zealand were represented.

The figural rooster & hen china is Royal Winton Chanticleer. The passion for this china started with my mother's teapot, you see at the rear of this photo.

I've added many friends over the years.

And a few wee pins too!

The tiles are made right here in New Zealand in the town of Waipu by The Waipu Tile Company

I bought this wee 1930's gem on ebay.

And what's hiding under here?

Cookies!

Handpainted cookies are made by the highly talented Lisa Hansen of The Whole Cake & Caboodle

Vintage button cupcakes

Sandra has just finished making these cupcakes, adorned with edible vintage buttons (chocolate dusted with edible lustre dust). Visting the textile fair on the weekend inspired us to host an afternoon of vintage buttons for customers to purchase some of the lovely buttons we bought back from the fair. Tommorrow afternoon for our group of ladies with a passion for glass buttons - what better to serve them for afternoon tea.

If you fancy making some of these cupcakes yourself click here to buy the vintage button mould

Sandra has a new addition to her family an 8 week old Pappilon puppy called Bilbo the sight of a box of pearls was too much for him, quick as lightning he was off with a string, maybe if I train him up I wont have to buy stock anymore

I had a great buy a while ago 18 dozen strings of 1950s Faux pearls, great for crafters or simply wearing still wrapped up in their original brown paper

The Evolution of Kiwiana and Maoriana.

Dr Claudia Bell is a researcher at the University of Auckland, eager to find people throughout New Zealand who collect vintage kiwiana and Maoriana. She plans to visit collectors later this year, to talk about their pieces.
The collections need not be huge.
All names will remain confidential.
If you are interested in possibly participating in this project,
please email c.bell@auckland.ac.nz

My business cards

Here are 4 of my kiwi brooches featuring 2 each on a card. The top one was my first, the bottom is my latest business card. I'm currently having the dilemma of which of my wee friends to select for the next business card.
